It's Eyes Wide Open Thing

Dear America,

How's that for a powerful observation of the front lines on the war on women -- just for starters?

ISLAM -- FACTS OR DREAMS?

McCarthy delivered this speech February 24, 2016; while this adaptation appears in Imprimis, allowing for all of us who wait breathlessly for each and every monthly feature on a variety of constitutional topics to magically appear in our mailbox.

And who am I to be the spoiler, right?

Today -- in the wake of Brussels --  all I ask is that you read all about it, in McCarthy's words, not mine.

But having said that, let's go to the only and only thing on the day (after Churchill, anyway) -- and it comes from the middle:

"The fact that there are multiple ways of construing Islam hardly makes the Blind Sheikh's literal construction wrong. The blunt fact of the matter is that, in this contest of competing interpretations, it is the jihadists who seem to be making sense because they have the words of scripture on their side -- it is the others who seem to be dancing on the head of a pin.   For our present purposes, however, the fact is that the Blind Sheikh's summons to jihad was rooted in a coherent interpretation of Islamic doctrine.  He was not perverting Islam -- he was, if anything, shining a light on the need to reform it."

The Blind Sheikh is hardly a lunatic, as Andrew C. McCarthy fairly points out -- but a "globally renowned scholar," educated and graduated from the al-Azhar University in Cairo -- a doctor of Islamic jurisprudence and expert in Sharia Law.

Sharia rejects everything Western.  Everything.

It is incompatible with the Western framework of government and society in every possible way.

By ignoring the harsh realities facing the western world, President Obama is committing treason against America's sovereignty and security -- whether it be caused by blind, "politically correct" interpretation or something more atrocious... allowing for a conscious, calculating perversion of our values and traditions and culture to accommodate the horrific infiltration from within, one that is destined to destroy America, the leader of the free world and steadfast symbol of the West, starting with Europe.

With eyes wide open say a prayer for America, people --  unless, like the president, you consider ISIL "not an existential threat."    (oh okay Mr. President...as his latest response to Brussels is the tango).
